What The “Harry Potter” Supporting Actors Are Doing Now
The “Harry Potter” series is one of the most successful cinematographic projects of all time. Yet, as it came to a close, its cast went on to find new roles that would suit their talent. Do you know in what movies and TV series you can meet your favorite “Harry Potter” actors and actresses? Read on to find out!
Sean Biggerstaff
Sean Biggerstaff (Oliver Wood) is still a handsome young man, still in the acting business, and still a Scot. Sean does not shy away from wearing the kilt, plays the guitar and is quite active on Twitter. After “Harry Potter”, he starred in “Mary Queen of Scots” as Earl of Bothwell, and appeared in one of the episodes of the TV adaptation of the novel “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?”
Harry Melling
Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley) had several episodic appearances in relatively unknown British TV productions, but he did not take part in any movie except for the “Harry Potter” series. Interestingly, Melling lost so much weight before the last movie that the producers considered casting another actor for the tole of Dudley.
Josh Herdman
Josh Herdman (Gregory Goyle) describes himself as “Father. Actor. Martial artist…” on Twitter. Josh recently won his debut MMA fight in London, and it seems he has abandoned his acting career for good. Although we all know that even those martial artists who never had acting experience prior to becoming champions sometimes appear on the cinema screen.
Clemence Poesy
Clemence Poesy (Fleur Delacour) had a very prolific acting career after “Harry Potter”, of which the most notable roles are Chloe in “In Bruges” and Natasha Rostova in a TV adaptation of “War and Peace”. In 2013 she was spotted during the production of “The Tunnel” TV series. Clemence also works as a fashion model and makes occasional appearances as a theater actress.
Natalia Tena
Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks) is well-known not only to the fans of “Harry Potter” but those who watch “The Game of Thrones” where she played the lethal wildling Osha. In addition to her other episodic roles in cinema, Natalia is the lead singer and accordionist of the British band Molotov Jukebox (whose name seems to have been derived, at least in part, from the Molotov Cocktail).
Afshan Azad
Afshan Azad (Padma Patil) seems to have the most trouble as a result of appearing in the “Harry Potter” series, and she did not continue her acting career. The main reason for that is her marriage to a Christian, which put a huge crack into her relationship with the rest of the family. Afshan’s father and brother, both devout Muslims, claimed to have been humiliated by her actions and publicly threatened to kill her. Unsurprisingly, Afshan is avoiding contact with her Bangladeshi family.
