Elon Musk – The Genius of 21st Century
The name Elon Musk is associated with a huge number of inventions: the creation of PayPal, SpaceX, and one of the first mass-produced electric vehicles Tesla, to name a few. Entrepreneur and billionaire, Elon Musk is the managing director of SpaceX aerospace company and co-founder of Tesla Motors. Elon Musk wants to change our world by promoting the idea of private space flights in order to take people to other planets (such as Mars, which has long been his aspiration) and to develop a new high-speed underground travel system called Hyperloop.
Elon Musk’s career spans from a computer game developer to a billionaire from the Forbes lists. But the most interesting part is not the money he made but what led him to such success. What qualities should a leader have? What knowledge is needed to create such companies? What problems can you face in Elon Musk’s shoes?
Elon Musk’s Childhood
Elon Musk’s parents remember him as a very inquisitive child: they note that his non-standard way of thinking was strikingly different from that of his peers. But the intellectual abilities of Elon did not help him in his childhood. He hardly found any friends to talk with at school, and he himself says that he was terribly raised and hopes that his own children would not encounter the difficulties he had to face.
Musk attended an English-language preparatory school, and then graduated from Praetorian High School. His childhood was cruel: a constant feud with school gangs looking for an opportunity to beat him up. Musk recalls that, for a long period of time, there was no respite, no opportunity to calm down as the gang’s persecution undermined his mental condition, making him unable to recover and restore him mental faculties.
Some of Elon Musk’s Notable Projects
Elon Musk’s first computer was an 8-bit Commodore. This life stage is associated with Musk’s growing passion for programming. Soon, he will sell the game code “Blastar” Office Technology. It should hardly come off as a surprise that all the events of the game take place in space. The aim of the game was to destroy a cargo ship carrying weapons.
Los Angeles Tunnel from The Boring Company
In November 2018, the Boring Company completed the test section of the Los Angeles tunnel that began in 2017. In the original concept, this tunnel was conceived for moving cars, but Elon Musk said that he was abandoning this idea and plans to open it for pedestrians and cyclists. Over time, it is supposed to introduce capsules for movement. The ground corridor near Los Angeles will provide an alternative to the metro and should serve as a high-speed transport for Tesla’s electric cars, eventually becoming the general HyperLoop network.
Elon Musk on Twitter
Elon Musk’s Twitter habits have long been a matter of much controversy among his fans and haters alike. SEC, which is a body regulating the financial market in the US, even investigated him on the grounds of misleading investors and falsifying information through his tweets. At other times he was harsh and lacking PC discussing issues that some people tend to take close to the heart. And of course, who doesn’t remember the memes of Musk smoking a joint during an interview (which he belonged to the host: a fact that gets too easily forgotten).
Into the Future
What we actually see, Elon Musk gives the impression of a genius and a creative director who is able to hold remarkable power in his hands. His ambitions are impressive: a couple of decades ago we would not have been able to believe in electric cars on the road, travel to space and home flamethrowers, and now all this is rapidly becoming part of our reality.
Elon Musk dictates his rules to the mass consumers: he is not able to compromise and conform with established opinions, and his desires and dreams are above any investors’ ambitions. He remembers the past, knows the present and sees the future, venturing into the unknown with the courage of somebody who wouldn’t hesitate to risk his life for a chance to make his dreams a reality.
